Any changes to an order (cancellation OR switching class sessions etc) must be made at least 10 days prior to the start of the session purchased. ClayFolk cannot offer refunds for a class if the change is requested after this date. We charge a $15 processing fee for any refunds.

3 week - Mixed Level Handbuilding: Slip Transfer Technique
Class Fee: $150 (includes membership to studio for duration of the class)
LOYALSTUDENT discount does not apply to this class
REQUIRED prerequisite: intro to wheel, mixed level handbuilding or other intro level class
Students should have at least 2 leather hard pieces ready to decorate for this class.

Slip Transfer Technique
Session I: May 20th, 27th & June 3rd from 2-4pm
(same time every Tuesday for 3 weeks)
Following session series begins: July 1st & 2nd and will go live for purchase on May 26th (sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know when the session is live).
In this three-week class, students will learn how to create bold surface designs utilizing underglaze and colored slip. We will create our own underglaze transfers with newsprint, then transfer our designs to clay. We will make reusable stencils and experiment with layering to create designs with depth.
This class is geared towards those with some clay experience (Intro to Wheel, Mixed Level Handbuilding, or equivalent experience) who are comfortable creating simple forms. Class time will be focused mainly on surface design with less of a focus on form building, so students may want to come to class with leather hard pieces to work with
Projects include:
Required prerequisite: Intro to Wheel, Mixed Level Handbuilding or other intro level class.
Students should have at least 2 leather hard pieces ready to decorate for this class.
Follow-up class suggestions: Any of our intermediate level classes (altered wheel, surface design, or intermediate wheel)

Firing/baking of your pottery
Glazes/materials
Use of studio machinery, tools and equipment

Access to Open Studio Hours : Thursday-Monday 12 PM-7 PM. This access is unlimited during the 6-week course!

FAQ:
Q: Can I make up a class?
A: Unfortunately not, we recommend trying to make it to each class, but you do have open studio time the rest of the week to come and play.
Q: When are Open Studio Hours?
A: Student Open Studio Hours are: Thursday-Monday 12 PM-7 PM). Hours are subject to change during workshop days, but 7 days notice will be given to students.
Q: What’s the age limit for the class?
A: 16. Anyone 16 or older may be present without a guardian as long as their guardian has signed the student agreement for them.
Q: Can I bring my child?
A: Sadly not to the class. This said we welcome kids during open studio hours - parents can simply pay a child day pass fee ($15) for their child and come and go from the studio for the duration of that day.
Q: What if I, another student or the teacher test positive for COVID?
A:
If you test positive, we apologize but there is no refund or class make up session we can offer.
If another student tests positive and let’s us know, we will inform the class and it will be up to you to decide whether you feel comfortable returning.
If one of our teachers tests positive and needs to cancel class 1 or 2 times we will refund you a proportionate amount ($30 per class). If further sessions must be cancelled we will offer you credit towards another class session.
